The beach is located within the “Gulf Orfanos”, with long stretches of sand and blue waters. During summer, there are many cultural events and theater performances happening in the amphitheater of Asprovalta. Along the beach, a green pedestrian street offers a variety of cafes, bars, restaurants, shops and street vendors.
Sightseeing
Guests of Assamaris have the opportunity to make short trips and excursions to several attractions in the area. One of the most important is the Monastery of St. George situated on the side of the green mountain of Kerdyllia.
Following the road to Kavala, the visitor could visit the Ancient Amphipolis with the Macedonian Tombs, the Museum and the Acropolis, as well as the Ancient city of Philippi with the beautiful ancient theater.
In a short distance, the Cave of Alistrati is considered one of the finest and largest caves in Greece and Europe. In the same location, the Canyon of River Aggitis is located, with a length of 15kmm, surrounded by beautiful wild flora and fauna. In a superb location on the south side, there is the Athos Peninsula with its famous monasteries.
